The customer, a cable car operator in Austria, faced challenges in managing their dynamic energy demands. Running the cable car required substantial power, which resulted in high electricity bills. The SOLIS BESS, acting as the "muscles" of the system, addresses these issues by storing excess energy generated by their photovoltaic (PV) panels and deploying it when needed. This capability is especially beneficial because the cable car's power demand can change rapidly and unexpectedly. SOLIS’s ability to quickly respond to these fluctuations ensures that the cable car can operate smoothly and efficiently, even during peak periods. By utilizing stored solar energy, customer reduces reliance on the grid and cuts down on electricity costs, thereby optimizing their overall energy usage.

Challenges & Solutions:

The key challenge of the project was installing the battery storage system at an altitude of 1,500 meters, within the former cable car operations building. This task presented significant logistical demands due to the remote location and the complexities of transporting and positioning the equipment at such a height.

AMOS Renewable Intelligence
Complementing SOLIS is the AMOS Renewables Intelligence, which serves as the "brain" of the system. AMOS's advanced forecasting capabilities anticipate the energy demands of the cable car, predicting when and how much power will be required. By analyzing data on load patterns and solar power production, AMOS ensures that the SOLIS BESS is always adequately charged to meet forthcoming demands. This predictive approach allows the system to be highly efficient, quickly adjusting to the dynamic load requirements of the cable car. As a result, customer can operate their cable car reliably while minimizing energy costs. The seamless integration of SOLIS and AMOS exemplifies how intelligent energy management solutions can address the practical challenges of dynamic power demands in real-world applications.
