Job description brief

The Plant Director is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing facility. This includes overseeing production, quality control, safety compliance, employee management, and financial performance. The Director ensures that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The position holder will implement the operations to bring the factory to full capacity of 2GWh and revenues of 1 Bil. Eur.

Key responsibilities, but not limited to
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for the factory site to achieve operational goals, increase efficiency, and drive growth. Align factory activities with the overall company strategy.
  • Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day manufacturing operations, including production scheduling, inventory management, maintenance, and logistics. Ensure that production processes are optimized for maximum output and efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that products manufactured meet quality standards and customer expectations. Implement and monitor quality control processes, including inspections and testing, to maintain consistent product quality.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance to create a safe working environment for all employees. Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure the factory site adheres to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Financial Management: Manage the factory budget, including operational expenses, labor costs, and capital investments. Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement measures to optimize resource utilization.
  • Team Leadership & Performance Tracking: based on KPIs related to production, quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and increase overall efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments such as engineering, supply chain, sales, and marketing to ensure seamless communication and alignment of goals.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between upper management and the factory site. Provide regular updates on production performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Crisis Management: Address any unforeseen challenges that arise, such as equipment breakdowns, supply chain disruptions, or workforce issues, in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop supply chain, logistics, and distribution: This is the most important part at the beginning, to set up the complete and functional supply chain of preproduction components.
Qualification & requirements
  • Track record of successfully developing and operating production for a minimum of 10 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (engineering, supply chain management, manufacturing, logistics, business management, operations, etc.). Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Lean six sigma, PM, or other related certifications.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within manufacturing or production.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and using KPIs to drive improvements.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in the industry.
  • Ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
  • English fluent spoken and written
  • SAP HANA4 and MS Office
  • In-depth knowledge of lean logistics and manufacturing principles, orientation in information systems.
  • Solution-driven, and accountable for results
  • High level of Team management skills
  • Experience working in an international environment is a plus

Plant Director will report directly to Chief Production Officer.
